EDF have sent me an email to remind me that my tariff is going to renew at the end of this month.
They remind me that if I say nothing they will keep me on the current one.
I am on the tariff I took on when I moved into this house 2 years ago.
I have tried to look at the info on the my account/tariffs section online ...several times....but....I think
they must have written it all in Serbo Croat as I don't understand any of it
Trying, at nearly 68, to be a grown up......and not having any idea.......which is yet another reason to add to the pile of why living alone is just rubbish.
When I was married, I did all the book keeping and admin for my household anyway so it's no big deal to have to do it now. It's just what we have to do. Basically, everyone is going to be paying through the roof for their gas and electricity, no matter which provider they have so EDF should have you on the best tariff suitable for you. It's the standing charges, which are non-negotiable, that are also adding to the high costs. In a nutshell, we just have to cut our cloth accordingly (my house used to be like Blackpool illuminations in wintertime because I'm better with lots of light. This year, I'll have to rethink shoving on lamps willy-nilly). Try and digest the info from EDF in small chunks rather than overwhelming yourself with too much info at once. You're not daft, you can do it!
ReplyDeleteHow kind of you Anne...to understand that I'm not daft but just a bit overwhelmed by numbers etc., thank you x

DeleteI deleted it because I decided I was telling you what really you already know! Xx
DeleteSometimes these things hit us hard. That said, everybody is feeling some pressure and stress; it is a sign of the times. I have to believe, we will all be okay. As you can see, I am an eternal optimist!
ReplyDeleteThank you Susan....and how wonderful to be an optimist!
DeleteTrying to grow up is great (but keep a bit of your young part too!).
ReplyDeleteThe technical jargon might be all Greek to you - is there no person you can talk too? (While I type this question I remember a situation of today: a special post deliverer hat put a card into my letterbox - though I was home all the time, he just didn't press the bell -- and on one of the three options for contact was a telephone number. Ha! A person to speak to!
Hahaha - it was a computer- voice which after a few sentences quaked the web-address of the provider - which was option number 3). Meaning: maybe a wonder might happen and you reach a real person who might explain - I do hope that!
Just calling in, Libs, to ask after you and see how your diddling along this fine weather?Hope all's well.
ReplyDeleteAnd I too, waiting to hear how you are doing.
